Where is ADVATE manufactured?
Baxter Healthcare Corporation, demonstrating its continued commitment to reinvest in supporting the hemophilia community, has established a U.S. manufacturing capability for ADVATE [Antihemophilic Factor (Recombinant), Plasma/Albumin-Free Method], the first recombinant factor VIII therapy free of blood-based additives.2,3,4,9
There have been no confirmed reports of viral transmissions with recombinant factor VIII therapies.
The new U.S. production site is located at Baxter’s Thousand Oaks, California facility, and complements the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Neuchâtel, Switzerland, which has produced ADVATE therapy since its approval in 2003. The Thousand Oaks facility will continue to manufacture RECOMBINATE [Antihemophilic Factor (Recombinant)], the world’s first recombinant factor VIII therapy for hemophilia A.2,4
